Could be the governor or a sticking valve in the control valve body.

When was the last time the bands were adjusted? Does it operate normally in reverse? When was the last fluid/filter change?

I'm not sure if the bands have been adjusted. I haven't had the truck long. No it doesn't act right in reverse it acts like it wants to die and some times it actually dies. I'm going to change the fluid and filter this weekend. I hope it will fix it

You should adjust the bands while you are in there if it has never been done.

OK now i have another problem. Can you help? I am having a ticking sound coming from under the truck. It started the other day but now its worse. It only makes the sound when its in drive or reverse. It doesn't do it if its in neutral or park. Do you have any idea what it could be?

If you own or have access to an inch-pound torque wrench send me your e-mail address by PM and I will send you info on how to adjust your bands. A ticking noise is hard to diagnose here without a better description of where the noise is coming from. Set the parking brake, block the wheels, and have someone you trust hold the regular brake down while you crawl under the truck and find the location of the noise.
