85 w250 360 Not getting any fire.
I have a 1985 dodge w250 4x4 pickup that a friend gave me for free. It ran last year but i am having a hard time getting the truck to fire. There is no fire coming to the spark plugs. It turns over just fine. This is what ive replaced so far : sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, coil, cap, rotor, and voltage regulator. All the wires look ok under the hood. What do yall think? This is the truck. Thanks.
Do you have power at the coil?
You should have dual pick-ups (start and run) in the distributor with 2 connectors with 2 wires to each connector. Unplug these connectors and check the resistance thru each pick-up coil. (150-900 ohms) You can check the air gaps on each coil with a NON-metalic feeler gauge.(start coil gap is 0.006 inch & run coil gap is 0.012 inch) DO NOT USE A STEEL FEELER GAUGE!!!!
The ignition module and the ballast resistor may also be suspect but one step at a time.
