Default Mopar valve covers won't stop leaking

Ok, this is getting old.

Both sides of my motor keep getting oily because my MP valve covers keep leaking.

I don't want to torque the screws down more because I'm affraid of cracking the covers.

I have standard gaskets in there now... should I try cork?

Anyone else have this problem?

Older pic but these are the covers:

In my experience the valve covers are not usually the problem. The problem is usually the porosity of the lip of the head that the gasket seals against. Pull the covers and clean the head sealing lip with solvent. Apply a small amount of RTV to the lip and use your finger to force the RTV into the pours of the casting. Reinstall the covers using the proper torque. Let the RTV set up overnight before starting the engine.

I've always had excellent results on my small blocks with the rubber w/steel core VC gaskets. They are a tad pricey at 50-60 bucks but with the valve covers properly torqued, they'll never leak. The last VC gaskets you'll buy.

Mopar Performance has carried them for years but I imagine Fel-Pro or one of the better aftermarket suppliers offers them as well.
