Default '82 Ram 150 not charging

The alt sharted out against the exhaust (thanks to the plumber who previously owned and "fixed" it), so I got a new alt, no charge, new voltage regulater, no charge. It charged fine before. The voltage on the big lug on the back while not running and battery charged up, starts at 12v and ticks down at about a half volt per second untill it hits 0v, but there is still 12v at the battery. Never seen this before. Thoughts?

I'd check the fusible links.

you could just run a new wire from the big post on the alternator to the battery. you should check the other 2 connections for power. i am pretty sure they need to be getting power of some sort in order for the alternator to charge your battery.
