Default New Rear Bumper

I've been bumperless for a while due to my old step bumper rusting out and looking nasty. I wanted something smoother, like a roll pan, but I didn't want to have to put up with something that either wasn't going to fit right or needed to be welded in. So I went to the pick n pull and came up with this, it's off an early 80's Ramcharger. If you want something lower-profile and smoother, and still functional, I think this fits the bill.

i did that same thing years ago with my 78 dodge pick-up.
i know years ago 1984 my father bought a new dodge and a rear bumper was an option then it was 80 bucks for that bumper you put on.
and if you wanted a step it was 125.

that bumper don't look too bad but i like the the stock truck bumpers because i always find the holes for towing come in handy for other things.

I also had a Aftermarket rear step bumper on my 1989 and it also rusted out. I was lucky to find a Mint Factory Step bumper for $75.00. It is amazing that the Factory bumper had not one spot of rust and the Aftermarket bumper look as if it came out of New York State with all of the rust it had.

Yes. Thanks, it's a good 20 foot paint job. My main goal at the time was to get the whole truck the same color and take off all the trim to smoothen the body lines a little. It's a good contrast with the chrome, but eventually I'll have time to block out the truck and get it smooth enough for gloss black, plum crazy, or sublime, depending on what I do with the burgundy interior.
