Thanks for the info, guys! Hope I didnt come across as being short with you! I value your help and your time! Tonight I pulled the egr valve off to have a closer look at everything. Nothing was gummed up afterall, but I went ahead and replaced the gasket. throttle response seemed better on the way home, but it did the same thing when I replaced injectors when it was already warm so hard to tell at this point. I also checked for vac leaks with propane and carb spray. couldnt notice any change in idle quality. I may just take it to the local shop that has a smoke machine and have them see if anything leaks. I have a vac pump and gauge, but it would be quicker to use a smoke machine. I'm really at a loss as to where to go next. I really cant stand driving a truck thats running like this! I have never been a dodge person and Im reteaching myself why! If i dont get this whooped soon, Im getting rid of it! Nice lookin truck, but I cant stand a truck that runs like this. I just feel like I have been chasing my tail all over the place on this! I have extensively worked on and diagnosed many vehicles, I just seem to have trouble on this one! Very discouraged at this point!

( I did look up my symptoms in a haynes manual and the common thread is a vacuum leak. HOpefully this is the case!)

so today I went out and started my truck. started and ran a bit better, but still not perfect. however, the idle sped up and cleared up considerably when I pulled the cap off of the big vacuum port on the brake booster... did backfire when I revved the engine though... is this a normal reaction to opening up a large vacuum line? It seems like it would run worse...

Correct me if I am wrong but answer these questions for me. You had a problem. You worked on the injectors and the problem cleared up but then came back. Have you looked at the injector spray pattern since? Have you done the check for a clogged cat? Have you blocked off the EGR port to test it?
