Cranking it with the hall effect switch disconnected will set the code 11. Disconnect the battery positive lead for about 10 minutes and then reconnect. That will erase the codes.

If you are getting spark but it is weak. The coil is suspect. The ohm reading from the pos to neg on the coil should be 1.34 to 1.55 ohms and from the pos or neg to the large center terminal should be 9.0 to 19.0 K ohms.

I tried two different coils at first I did have one that said use with external resistor but I think that was wrong so I got another....to actually see the spark I have to scratch the wire over a ground.

Disconnect the distributor wiring harness at the distributor. The #1 terminal is by the outside alignment tab and across from the flat inside the connector. You should have battery voltage +or- 1 volt at the #1 terminal. Do you?

Use a jumper wire from terminal #2 to #3 in this test. Turn the key to run and hold the coil wire about a 1/4 inch from a good ground. Break and make the connection at #2 or #3 several times with the jumper. You should get a good spark at the coil wire. Do you?
