Default '84 dodge engine problem

Hi,
I have a 1984 dodge truck with the 318 engine. I am having a problem where it wants to die when I put my foot on the gas. Have replaced the fuel filter and checked the carb. to see if its getting gas. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

have you checked the sparkplugs to see what they look like? when was the last time you did the sparkplugs, wires, cap and rotor?

Are you sure the accelerator pump in the carb is up to snuff?

Found out the charcoal can went south on me and plugged up the carb with charcoal.
have since completely disassembled the carb and gave it a good cleaning as well as throwing a rebuild kit in in. if that don't do the job I'm thinking about converting it to fule injection
