Default Turns over, no spark....HELP!!!!

I am putting my 1985 D150 back together and I can turn the motor with the starter, everything (New Coil, ECU, Voltage Reg, Ballast) has got power like it should, and have double checked all the grounds after painting. I have no spark coming out of the coil which leads to no spark at the plug. I have checked everything twice and can't find a problem. Looking for help or a direction to go.

Thank you!!!!

Have you run resistance checks on the pick-up in the distributor?

I did but wasn't sure of the reading between my Haynes manual and what my meter was reading, since I didn't have the same scale as the one they showed. Going to try another meter with better readings. But i check the pickup coil on another dist. that I have and it read the same?? maybe both are bad....

First lets figure out what system you have. Is it a 4 or 5 pin ECU. Is it a single or double pick-up coil. Is it a single or dual resistor? Please be specific and answer all 3. I know what you should have but I need to be sure what is in your truck as it may not be stock.

What were the resistance readings you got?

Do you have power at the positive terminal in the coil?

That is low resistance for the pick-up but the chances of two different pick-ups having the same resistance and both being bad are small so I think it is your meter. Is the air gap set correctly using a non metallic feeler gauge?

The connector pins on the ECU form a pointed end and a round end. Pin 5 is in the rounded end beside the missing pin position. Do you have continuity from pin 5 to a known good ground?

Haven't checked the air gap yet, the dist. came from a running engine, and yes I have continuity from pin 5 to ground. Now you understand my confusion and frustration....
