Gas filler neck grommet
Yeah, good luck with that. I pulled my tank last summer and the grommet was crap on the outside top. Dry rotted as hell. Without that bubble lip on the outside, it becomes a dirt and crud collector. After searching the parts stores, internet, and probably 30 trucks in the boneyard with every one of them in the same condition, I gave up and bought an extra one from the junkyard and fabbed it. I took the nice inside tapered part and cut it off with some extra to form a male end to go into the old one backwards. IMO the tapered part should have been on the outside as well from the factory cause the tapered cone will shed dirt and water better. Anyway, after cutting the ugly part off the original, I inverted the extra one and permatex'd them together to seal it. Ugly but functional.

Well, between what to Autozone guy told me and everything I read about what a challenge it can be to find one of these, I found one at my local dealer for $18.
