Default crank walk?!!

oh yes my 318 has it...check this video...

it very very slighlty knocks...if i even notice it...has full power etc etc..no odd nosies either

no metalic in oil or anything

is it still savable?...i hope so

The saddle bearings i call em or worn,Some people callem thrust bearings,I'd have the crank mic, and the rod bearigs also,

You are showing what is called crankshaft end play. Allowable limits for it are 0.002-0.007 inch in a 318. Yours is obviously excessive but that alone is not a reason for a rebuild, but is an indication that you should check other things like compression to see what life is left in this engine. Then you will know if you are looking at just a lower end problem or a complete rebuild. You will then have decisions to make but gather as much info as you can before starting a tear down.

well did compression check...all cylnders had 100-120 psi at wot

so is it safe to drive this thing...id like to save it before it does blow up lol

Minimum compression specification is 100 PSI with all cylinders within 25 PSI of each other so it is on the edge but still in spec. My hearing isn't what it used to be so I can't hear much from the video. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it from the specification side but only you can tell any noises. I would however start saving my money for a rebuild.

yea it makes no noises...i small lifter tick at most...with the muffler(flomaster with no cat) its kinda hard to hear any noise while driving...idle speed/ reving i hear nothing....

glad its ok to drive....ive put about 2k or so miles with it like this...then no telling how long it been drivin before that lol....
