Hey Aje,

I've heard a few people recommend D&D Auto Air in San Antonio. They are located on 8502 Speedway Dr. between Loop 410 and Jackson Keller. Ph: 210-341-2261 or www.ddautoair.com. They make custom hoses. They also do custom AC's for Hot Rods and Classic cars.

I tried to find the place I used before on Fredricksburg Rd. that did some good work for me some years back but they have changed names so I'm not sure if they are even the same place anymore. They installed a custom made American made AC system for less than a factory compressor in my Honda Civic. It was a lot cooler than my factory air but used more power from that little booger. In any event, that place is now called Factory AC at 421 Fredricksburg Rd. in San Antonio. Ph: 210-732-9984 or San Antonio AC ph: 210-732-9222 at the same address. One may be parts and the other service I guess.

I'd really like to hear how much the whole kitten kaboodle cost ya since I really want to get AC too. The other day the temp reading in my car showed 107* and yesterday was 105* and it's not even summer yet. That's too damn hot!!

thanks sixgun, yea its dam hot to quick here.i have seen those in the phonebook,i found a guy closer to me,he's in universial city 28yrs. exp.
he checked it out the old r12 system, its just so beat up that it is worth getting all new parts and converting over to r134a.
i pick up most of the parts this morning that i ordered from O'reilly auto parts, then start putting them on. i will then take it back to that ac shop i found next week and have them charge it and check it for any leaks and such.
i also ordered all the window and door seals cause the ac would just not be good if it went out all of the leaks around the windows.
thanks for all the info.
i believe i saw your post about you getting a new trans, was it at a reasonable price?

I paid little more than I really wanted to but it still came out cheaper than ordering one online. They put in a Transgo reprogramming kit. The converter is a Mopar unit coming in from OE Parts. My wife had just left home yesterday when UPS tried to deliver it. Usually they just leave it on the porch but OE Parts requires a signature I guess. They left a note saying they would attempt delivery again Monday. Another wasted Sunday off.

If anyone's interested here a couple of good reads on Torqueflites:
