Default 93 d150 running rough

I have a 93 D150 3.18 Auto 125k miles..

Truck has always ran perfect, no complaints. But two years ago the feul pump went south so I replaced it.. it's ran fine ever since.

Recently it started running rough just like it did when the old feul pump went out. It would have lousy power, pop under hard loads.

Put a new feul pump in and it's still doing the same thing.

I have done a tune up.. plugs wires cap rotor pickupmodule in dist. feul filter new map and problem still persists.

Sometimes it will drive into town fine with no probems, other times, especially during hard load it will want to run like crap and miss and pop. let off and it clears up.

Do these trucks have any common problems I should be looking for.. i'm about lost with it!

Any help is appreciated!

RJ

Thanks very much for the insight!

That would explain why it feels lean

Also engine consumes 1 1/2 qt between oil changes and 6 month old plugs looked rather worn.. like 10 years of use worn.

definitely sounds like your plenum gasket is blown. eventually the plenum gasket goes on all magnum engines.
Symptoms of a blown plenum:
1. Excessive oil consumption
2. Heavy spark knock under load (sounds like a can of marbles when you have your foot in it)
3. Truck feels like it was castrated (loss of power)
4. Trouble getting up hills

Consequences
1. Clogged cat
2. Clogged cat will lead to #8 spark plug fouling (rather quickly)
3. Clogged cat will also lead to cracked heads (if given time to do so)
4. Fouled front (pre-cat) Oxygen sensor
5. Fouled oxygen sensor will lead to horrible gas milage
