Default 86 d150 flatbed conversion

Bought an 86 d150 a while back, and its gonna be my summer project. First thing to do is get rid of the flatbed and put a box on it. What years could i get one from that would fit this truck?

I believe 82-93 should have the same bolt pattern. You may be able to go older, but the body lines might not match up.

ok great thanks for the info. Dumb question... but would it be a long or short box? I don't have the truck here and haven't seen it in a couple months pretty much just jumped on it.. cause for $500 id even use for parts

Hard to tell from the angle, but I'd have to agree with Wolfie on it being a long box.

Wheelbase for long bed is 131 inches. Short bed is 115. That should help.

We'd love to see some pics once you've got the new bed on.
