Exclamation Nobody shoot! I need help! 82 Ram

First, I am not a car guy by nature. I know a little but am in over my head. I recently got a hold of an 82 Ram. Runs great but has been sitting. I'm going to start with a complete service and change out the headlights and some easy stuff.

I have some interior and wiring issues caused by a guy who wasn't willing to admit his lack of knowledge as easily as I am and thought he could restore it. Got a lot of hanging wires and I am not a wiring guy.

Basically, it's been sitting for about a year and it doesn't look like there was a lot of maintenance done before that. Where do I start? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks yawl!

I think we need some more detail. Are you looking for a wiring diagram? If everything that needs to work works, I'd change the oil, brake fluid, clean the carb, maybe get the radiator flushed if it looks bad. What does and does not work? I can scan in a 81-84 wiring diagram if nobody else posts one that is already on here, if thats what you need.

The best advice I can give is to purchase a good manual. Preferably a factory service manual. Wiring diagrams are available from your local library for photo copy fees.

Thanks yawl. Me and a friend looked at it yesterday and came to pretty much the same conclusion. Needs some greasing and fluids changed mainly. The guy who I got it from had some "prison wiring" that he rigged that needs to be fixed and secured in some places. I am going to get some pics up soon. Thanks for the tips.
