Default '93 D150 No Start

Thank for reading.
1993 D0150 318 auto.
-While driving truck shut off as if someone had turned the key off.
-Will not restart.
-Fuel pump is not coming on.
-On the advice of the parts guy, I checked the relays with a 9volt battery. All 4 relays on the panel clicked. (not sure which is the pump relay).
I pulled a spark plug out and was not able to see any spark upon cranking over the engine.

Appreciate any advice.

The pockets a bit thin and have to have it running this weekend.
Thanks for your time and your help.

i would see about moving the relays around and see if you can hear the pump come one. one of the relays is suppose to control the fuel pump and ignition(spark).

From the sound of it, it sounds like your fuel pump went out on you. That's almost exactly what happened on me.

but he does not have spark also. the big thing they have in common is the relay. maybe it is not getting power?

I agree with looking at the relays. With key off there should be power to one heavy wire on each relay but not on the other heavy wire. Turn the key on and there should be power at both heavy wires on each relay.

Ive been told that the pickup coil is the culprit. Getting to that distributor is no easy task.

before you go spending too much time and money on it you should do as SEAL said and test for constant and ignition power at all the relays. it is free. replacing the coil if it is the problem will cost money.

A bad pickup coil will not stop the fuel pump from running when you first turn the key on.

Of course my voltmeter died. I did check that the relays work by hitting them with a 9v battery. They all clicked. Off to find a new voltmeter I guess. I dont mind spendng the money on a pickup coil, getting to it is what I dont want. :-)
