Default Lowering the rear

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say the rear of my truck sits a good 3-4 inches higher than the front. I'm sure part of this is because the front springs are over 20 years old, but I like where the front of my truck sits. I'd like to get the rear either level or atleast within an inch of the front. I was looking for a good and cheap way to lower the rear, and an axle flip isn't in my budget right now. But looking at how the springs bolt up, it almost looks like on the rear mounts, you could use a shackle lift to accomplish the reverse because there's plenty of room between the top of the spring and the bottom of the bed. Has anyone tried this or maybe see a problem with it that I'm not seeing?

the only way i have seen a dodge sit level was by someone removing a leaf in the rear end but it would decrease how much weight you would be able to haul.

Yeah I know, I had a 360 and a 904 trans in the back of my truck and it still wasn't level, but it rode like a Cadillac lol. And I'm trying not to lose payload capacity, that's why I figured moving the springs' mounting points would accomplish the leveling and still be able to use it as a truck from time to time.

MY 89 has 3.5 inch spacer blocks between the springs and the axle. Does yours?

No, mine does not have anything between the springs and their perches on the axle. I wish it did, that would be an easy fix.

I want to make mine level also. I was thinking to take out a leaf and to add air bags to compensate for the leaf being removed. Or to have the springs de-arched.
