318 Carb Question

318 Carb Question

I have a 86 w150 and it has a pos 1 barrel on it that is complete **** and needs to be rebilt. So i was woundering if to put a 4 barrel on it do i have to replace the intake too or no?

are you sure it is a 1 barrel? alot of the time 318s came with 2 barrels. you can get an adapter plate to put a 4 barrel on a 2barrel intake but i do not see your fuel mileage going up.

I was told it is a one but i guess its a two maybe. What adaptor would i need (part number site). Im not looking for mpg it just needs a new card the one on it is **** and the valve is completely open all the time.

I would just buy an intake and a 4 barrel. My milage didn't get much worse, plus I love the sound of those 4 barrels opening.

I would buy a intake but I want to keep my cost low.

i picked up a used edelbrock performer for 50 bux,,,sandblasted it an painted looks brand new...didnt put it on yet due to no 4 bbl..just the stock 2 (318 ci)

i am gonna get that adpter plate mybe i dunno yet
