2" Lift on '91 D150
#22
It's been a while since my last post. I just installed a set of Moog 7226 coils and Gabriel gas shocks on my d250 yesterday. It was definetly an eventful day. I got 2.5 inches of lift over what I had before. I LOVE the stance, but man it is a stiff riding s.o.b... I'm going to put my sway bar back on, and set the toe today...

If my search was correct, those are for a D350 1 Ton truck. Is that correct? I would suspect they would be pretty stiff.
That's why IMO it is better to get 2" lift 1/2 Ton springs. Cost a little bit more for custome springs but the ride is better. Even mine were stiff for a while until they "softened" up. Hopefully yours will with some time.
Throw a pic or 2 up so we can enjoy the stance as well. No thread jacking worries here - just mutual enjoyment.

I figure that $300 for the conversion was too good to pass up. I met this guy at Ram Jam 2012 for RamCharger Central. He had a 92 Ramcharger Canyon Sport that ran all weekend with no problems. He told me he was gonna pull it to put in a Magnum that he had already spruced up. The deal was good with the complete running motor, wiring harness, and computer but when I got there, he just threw in all kinds of parts to go with it like the magnum exhaust manifolds, radiator, shroud with the overflow tank attached, motor mount brackets, AC and all hoses, condenser. He was overloaded with parts and needed to clear some room for new projects. Threw in another set of dash gauges and new set of matching tail lights. Heck, I even turned down some parts believe it or not.
I had several people ask me whether the tranny will stand up to the 5.2 V8.
The A999 transmission is a medium duty tranny that was used on V8's also. Here is what Wikipedia says about the A999:
"The A999 (later 32RH) was a heavier-duty, wide-ratio version of the small-frame A904 transmission for use with medium-power V8 engines and the 3.9 L V6 engine.
The 999 was equipped with five direct friction plates.
These automatics had lower first and second gear ratios to allow the lower-powered engines to provide better acceleration without sacrificing highway fuel economy."
It is rebuilt with a transgo stage I shift kit and put on a Mopar deep pan. I put a mild Mopar performance torque converter as well. I will probably need to go dual exhaust eventually though. I know I just won't be happy till I do.
318 Power - I say go for it.
Gold Ram - to get the 23 mpg, what are you running for exhaust and is it TBI?
