Default 90 Ram Project

Can anyone tell me what other years are interchangeable with a 1990 Ram 2500... engines, body panels etc.

As for engines Im not really sure, itll depend on what transmission you have for one. Other than that you can pretty much swap for most years, just depend on how much customizing you want to do.

Dodge kept the same body style for years up to 93. So there shouldnt be much difference there. Grilles and tailgates changed over the years but thats about it except for the hood ornament.

81 was when the sheetmetal went to the later style, 72-80 was the older style, but it will still bolt on. lines won't match though. And Tail lights dont interchange

1986-90 i believe are all identical body wise. 318s from 87-91 should work. 360s from 88-92 should work. And I believe v6s from 87-91 should work. We need some more info. For example, a wiring harness is pretty year specific. A cab is not.

i think you can take a 318 out of anything 91 and older but if it is 87 or older you will have to swap over your intake. 360 from 92 and older would also work but i think 88 and older is carbed so you would also have to switch the intake manifolds. v6s are v6's and they only had them from 88-91 in the rams. you can not swap in a 318 or 360 to a truck with the v6 unless you modify the motor mounts. if your truck was to have a slant 6 a 318 or 360 should just bolt in. grilles and rad support are a bit different from 90-93, 86-89 and 81-85.

Transmissions are pretty universal too. I had to replace my 904 with a 904 out of a '71 B-body. Identical except it doesn't have a lockup converter.
