checking the ground connection is always important. in the summer when it was warm and dry the amp gauge would move a lot when i turned things on like turn signals. when it was wet out amp gauge would hardly move at all under the same conditions.
if the one post on the alternator is not getting 12 volts when the truck is running i would almost be interested to see what would happen to it if 12v was applied.

well i just pulled off the 12v ignition feed to the alt. feild term. then hooked up to battery 12v,which should eliminate the ignition switch and the asd relay.still puts out 15.3volts. what to do now. i wish i could figure this repair out the wright way. what to do next??? this is a PITA. THANK YOU

so i did more trouble shootin..i bought an optima battery after my crappy valucraft went bad..
it still pulsated, escpecially when the headlights was on, so intalled better ground cable, and made sure it had a good body and motor ground...still did it..
so i got a 12ga peice of wire, wirebrushed a small bolt to bare metal on the alternator, made a good ground on the rad support...that has seem to fixed my problem so far..i dont do alot of night driving so results may change
