Default 78' d-100 will not idle

A buddy has a 1978 Adventurer D-100 with the 225 Slant six, and it wont idle. It will only stay running at 2,000 RPM. The carb has been rebuilt twice. Its not an intake leak because it will flood itself out when I try to make it run at idle. Maybe a new carb?

More info is needed. When was the last tune-up? Is it an auto or manual? Who rebuilt the carb and did they know how? What all was replaced during the carb rebuild?

It was sitting for several years. Auto. And the person who rebuilt it new exactly what they were doing. I just went to start it with the choke on, and the carb spit up a large amount of gas. Like I said, the manifold wouldn't be leaking. I think it just needs a new carb...
