There was a motorhome here on Craigslist last week, don't remember the exact year, but it had a 40 something thousand mile drivetrain (440/727). That'd be the easiest way to go. You'd have mounts, engine, tranny, electrical components, accessories like a/c, radiator maybe, who knows what else. This one was $2000, of course the motorhome itself looked like poo, but if it really had that little mileage, the bottom end was probably spotless.

Yes. Traveco I believe was one of them. Winnebago used dodge powertrains too. Probably others as well.

If I used a motorhome 440, what could I do to increase compression? They had fairly low compression ratio didn't they?
