Question intake manifold/egr

i picked up a spare intake for my 93 d150 5.2,so i can get it ready for the kegger mod, plenum fix.
it has an egr passage cast into the intake in the center of it.
i was picking out the carbon from this passage and found a small washer about 7/16 with a small hole in the center of it. it was in the end of the passage/tube. the end of the passage/tube is in the center of the intake,it has 2 holes,1 facing right 1 facing left directly below the throttle body bores. is this maybe a restrictor washer/orfice of some sort??
or is it something that worked its way there from the egr valve?? this is odd and hard to explain. anyone?? thank you

I think most of us are running LA engines. Did you try the 2nd gen section too? It seems they owe us a favor considering the number of 2nd gen owners asking for help in the 1st gen general discussion forum.

Hey Aje,When I changed out my EGR valve, the bottom opening had an "orifice washer" with a number stamped on it. This washer calibrates the air flow. ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS, each EGR valve is specifically calibrated for specific engine applications; therefore, be absolutely sure you install the correct replacement valve and orifice washer mounted in the exhaust gas inlet. The orifice washer number corresponds to specific OE stamping numbers. It is held in place with center punch strikes. Hopes this helps.
