Im not sure what you mean by rain guard. Im guessing you are talking about the mini gutter that runs above the windshield and doors?

I imagine this is somewhat common since water sometimes pools in it, prolly will just have to bondo it up or something. Unless you can weld

It is usually the roof itself that attaches to the gutter that rusts thru. The repair is totally dictated by how bad it is but there are no replacement parts for this. This is basic body work.

i remember a long time ago that someone had posted a link to a website that had roof skins and i think they may have also seen that gutter on the same website.

Cam, I have the same problem and mine is real extensive. The rail and sheet metal above the windshield are gone. I figure the best bet is to cut a front piece off another truck and weld it on. At the boneyard over here there are a lot of trucks with this same rot. I did a search a long time back on the net and found someone that removed the drip rail from his Ford truck. Doesn't look too hard if that's all the rot you have. Just have to drill out some spot welds. Opinions vary as to whether it will leak through the door seals with this piece removed. Looks good though.

I have some minor rust on my roof gutter and plan on brushing out the loose pieces with a Dremel and putting some POR15 Patch in the groove. It is like tooth paste and will harden up very hard. I am not sure if this would work if the gutter is totally deteriorated.
