Hey Aje,

How about putting on a set of mud tires on the old girl and taking her out to Ram Jam at the end of the month. Might "shake" out some those "bugs". RCC's TX chapter is hosting it in Marble Falls, TX just right down the road from us. Been getting mine ready to play.

giddy up lil doggie...

ok i noticed today,if i shake the bed hard side to side i hear a banging of the drums, from axle end play. a guy at work heard this,he said maybe axle bearings. could this cause a hop or a shake vibration when braking??
this i knew about for a while,i just did not know if this would cause my issue. i have just been to busy doing other things, rather than working on my truck. thank you

i know i am possibly all over the place with this issue, but im just wanting to find out all of my options.
is there any way it could be the torque convertor?? it does have a little vibration when picking up speed hard from a stop till about 60 mph.
slight vibration/shake at 65,not as bad as last year(it was real bad) changed out the rear springs it got a small amount better. 65 and up it seems like a real fast shake side to side. i see it in the hood, frontend, door panels, mirrors, headache rack all shake. i also have no steering wheel shake,i can let go of steering wheel hit brakes and all is good. 13,000 mi. on new michelins and no wear at all, also had an alignment done all is good. where or what to do with this???
its just being a PITA. nothing i replace seems to make any change in the direction to fix this issue. thank you

How are your rotors? New also? I know its simple stuff, but I don't think the word rotor has been mentioned. Just covering all the bases.

well its saturday,i think im going to change the master cyl.,front brake hoses, rear brake hose and bypass the ABS hyd.valve.
i do have a little brake pedal fade anyway, plus these old parts on the truck are say 20 years old(1993). i also am going to check out the rear axles again for a bent one or latteral movement(bearing). i just dont know where to begin with this truck, but i will not rest until i figure it out.
i still believe its the excessive axle end play causing all of these issues im having. i have been doing some checking, and the excessive end play can be caused by the clutches wearing out in the rear?? is this true?? in and out movenent (excessive) would cause the truck to shake side to side wright?? anyone have an idea?? thank you

What differential is in the truck? If it is the original differential the bearing has nothing to do with lateral axle movement and there is no provision to adjust axle end play. You probably don't have clutches in a D150. I also can't see how end play would cause what you are describing. That being said a bad axle bearing might or a bad/loose pinion bearing would cause what you are experiencing. A missing driveshaft weight or a bent drive shaft could cause this also.
