when i shift into reverse the engine almost dies. and it starts to rough idle. when i put it in drive the engine hesitates when i press on the gas and then its fine. any info on what to look for would help. thanks scott

 

What is the engine RPM in neutral and when it is in gear and what should it be for your truck according to the tune up decal under the hood? Have you checked the timing? When was your last tune up? Have you done any work on the truck before the symptoms began?
