Default Power steering noise

I have a 96' Ram 1500, The power steering pump has made a winning noise since I bought it a year ago. The fluid is full. Only makes noise when you turn the wheel. I have been told that a lot of Dodge power steering pumps do this and theres no way to fix it without replacing. Any suggestions on what will stop the noise witout replacing the pump??

If there is no air in the system then you have a couple choices
A. Take the belt off
B. Replace the pump - when doing so watch for metal in the fluid...if there is you need to flush out the PS system or you will just loose another pump

I can tell you that on my mine that after whining a couple months the pump shaft sheared off and left me stranded...
