Default four inch lift questions

I am looking to get a lift kit for my 86 w150. It is time for new springs and shocks so might as well put a lift kit on it. What is a good four inch lift kit? I was looking at the four inch rough country with front and rear springs and shocks. Is there anything else i need besides the springs and shocks? like a transfer case drop? Or can i just slap the springs and shocks on and call it done?

With a 4" lift you shouldn't need anything fancy... you might need brake hoses

Can't do an x-fer case drop on a dodge like on a jeep...all you will do is worsen the front drive shaft angle.

Are you planning an all spring lift or one with lift blocks?

Rough country makes a nice lift. Their springs are super stiff though so if you could get away with just new shocks all around and get the kit with springs in front and blocks in the rear (shocks included) that'd be the way go to IMO save some cash too.

I would give serious consideration to a rear shackle flip before adding additional blocks to the back or even an "all spring" lift in the rear...with all springs the ride would really be rough... and I'm not a big fan of double stacked blocks...

alright so its better to have stock springs and one block with a shackle flip to get rid off the stock block than to do all springs?

the rear springs on the truck are almost flat. so would probably have to buy stock replacement springs. The truck was my grandpas truck and i am trying to bring it back to life. he used it to pull his tractor around with it so the suspension is pretty worn out.

I have a 92 w150 which just a few months ago I had a rough country 4'' lift put on it. It is a stiff ride but its a good hight and like it so far. Springs in the front and blocks in the back. Shocks came with it. My rear springs are pretty worn as well but lifted springs are alot more expensive and from what ive read unless you do alot of heavy duty off-roading its not that big of deal.

Didnt have to change my driveshaft pr brake lines.

Pick up one of these.

I have 4" superlift springs on the front of my '72 and they ride great, and flex well on the trail.

If your front driveline binds after installing the lift, either grind the CV and/or yolk for clearance, or buy a clocking ring for the t-case.
