Default Ignition coil question

So i bought a replacement coil form NAPA today. Went to replace the old one, and i noticed one wire goes to what looks like a condenser... except i'm pretty sure my 87 has electronic ignition, not points. And even if it is a points style ignition, the condenser would be in the distributor. WTF is this?

Also, when i removed the wires to the terminals on the coil, i second guessed myself as far as what came from where...

So, this condenser thing attaches to the negative terminal on the coil, along with the striped wire, and the thicker solid wire attaches to the positive, right?

I really need to get a manual... Thanks

The condenser you are referring to is there to prevent ignition static from getting to your in-dash radio. The larger 14 gauge red wire is on the positive and the black/yellow 18 gauge is the negative and the condenser goes on the negative.
