Unhappy I need help 1984 Dodge D150

I have a question concerning my 1984 Dodge D150 Pickup I hope I can get someone to shed some light on. I need the driver side door replaced on my truck and I’m having difficulties hunting one down. I spoke with a parts employee at a dodge dealership and was informed that only 1981-84 sheet metal parts will work with my year model truck. My concern is that I can find a 1985 d150 door for sale on several different websites but not a 1984. What is the difference between the 85' body style and the one I have that will not make the 85' door fit.

If you have any information regarding fitting the 85' door to my 84' or know a place that carries the part that I need I will appreciate it.

Thank you!

i don't see why 85 doors would not fit. i think the only thing that changed was small stuff like hinges, speakers and the plastic panel that covers the door. i think everything else is the same and should just bolt up.

I thought that 1981 to 1993 body panels were the same. My truck is a 86 and got doors from another truck but don't know the yr and they work

Junkyard junkyard junkyard! My buddy's truck has early 80s doors on a 1990 cab. It works. The truck is still under construction, but the doors are on and from what I understood weren't a cause for concern.
