what do you mean by upgrade? i got a 4 barrel 570 Holley street avenger on my 81 and it runs great but is a pig on gas. about 9mpg in the city and 12 on the highway. if i am extremely careful i could probably get 15 but that is very hard to get. i think if i was to buy a carb i would buy something smaller like a 400cfm 4 bbl

Just something better than stock but requires no modifications to put on. I'm sure my could use a rebuild but I wanted to see if there is one someone would recommend

i don't know if there is anything really better than stock if than stock if you have a Holley carb. as long as the carb don't leak and it runs great i don't think there would be much reason to rebuild it. if anything it could possibly just use a tiny bit of tuning.
