Default 1985 dodge ram 100

I have a dodge 100 and the lights all work if i touch the lights to the bumper and ground them but they don't work when they are tight into the plastic lenses. Where is the ground for the lights on the back. The front work fine so im not sure if they have different grounds. I also am not sure why the windshield wipers dont work. When I flip the switch i hear a click from a solenoid I think but nothing. Is the motor for the wipers bad or is there a fuse blown. Also does anyone have a complete wiring diagram of the truck.

Turn the wipers on. Get out and listen under the cowl (where the wiper arms are). Do you hear the wiper motor running? If so, the plastic grommet has probably broken and the linkage has popped off.

The grommets on mine were compeltly shot and the main ones non-existent. This has been pretty common problem on these trucks. I replaced them myself so if it turns out they are bad, I can give some advice on replacing them if you like, my truck is a 92 so maybe some differences but should essentially been the same.

i would not be turning them on for too long if they are not moving. you could try pulling on them a little. i have had mine kind of stick. turn the on and give them a small pull and they started moving again but the other day it took me and my sister pulling on them to make them move.

I took one bolt loose and the whole thing started working. So I cleaned the bolt wiht a wire wheel and it has a good ground now. Does anyone know a few good places to get parts for a truck like this. I cant' find anything on ebay.

On my 87 D100 & 5th. ave. both I ran an external ground wire because the wiper motor motors lost their ground. Been good for over ten years now.

Default Lights

All of my lights except for reverse lights work only if I touch the light holder itself against the ground wire bolt. I put in a new bolt and drilled the hole out so itd ground good. why wont the lights stay on without being touched against that. Also when I put the test light to the wires the reverse lights have power to them even when its not in reverse and they still do in reverse but they dont turn on and the bulbs are good what is wrong with them. Is there something Im over looking or did the previous owner hook up something wrong. Which I don't think he hooked up anything wrong. Does anyone know what site to go to for a diagram and all fuses are fine

nevermind the wiring has to be messed up or something. I went back out and turned the lights on and it seemed to be working fine until I realized the turn signal lever was on but no trurn signals so I turned it off and the tail lights went out then I turned the signal back on and turned the key and they went out again. Then I flipped the hazards and I had tail lights. Still never had any reverse lights. Where the heck is this all coming from.

sounds like when you turn the signal switch or hazards on the lights are pulling a ground through that. sounds like you may need to clean all the ground wires and possibly reconnect them better.
