Idle Prob with an 84 d150 with slant 6
I recently bought an 84 dodge d150 with a slant six for $400 as a rat rod/hot rod project... i wanna keep the slant 6 in it but the kid said he had the carb rebuilt and the guy that did it took the auto choke off and put a manual one in and never tuned the carb... now it idles really rough and will die if you dont keep giving it a lil gas... drives fine on the high way and once yur going but i would like to know how to fix this... should i buy a new carb with the auto choke on it... or can i replace the auto choke... or how do i tune it? im an auto body student and dont know a whole lot about motors just the basics
Sounds like if he didnt tune the carb then start with adjusting the idle curcuit.
