my truck idle fing in park but dies when put in gear

no you cant hear the fuel pump kit on when i first turn the key to the run position and i turned it to the run position the get a 12volt jumper and touck the positive wire on the ignition coil and then and only then can you hear the fuel pump go on

sounds like your asd relay may be bad or is not getting power when you turn the key on.

in the picture it shows 5 prong and i only have 4 but i dont think thats it could it be the ignition switch

as long as 87a is the only terminal that is not there you are good. did you test to see if there is power at at the relay? it could be as simple as something not getting power.

Patrick; You have asked for help. CW has given you the best advise based on what you have told us. It is up to you to do the work and actually test the ASD relay. Trouble shooting is a process where you check things in a logical order and in this case that means testing the relay.

i checked it and its good i have fuel now but still no spark so what can it be no spark comeing from the ingintion coil and replaced it

U can but back it off all the way and then turn 2 1/2 turns or adjust at 700 rpms with vaccum guage , make sure you diconect the temp cool sensor and check all vac lines behind carb or throttle body and make sure youre timing is correct with a timing light
