Default 4wd actuator issue

i have a 91 w150 4wd. i just bought a new 4wd actuator and installed it to make my constant 4wd engaged light go off. i got the light to go off but as soon as i tested it thru 4wd high and low the light wont go off now. am i looking at a vacuum issue or electrical?
