Ok I ran 10 miles down the road and I started to get a loud banging sound again so I cut the engine and got a tow home, the same sound I had last time when I broke a connection rod, what the hell, idk what to do anymore.
i think you may want to look for another motor. i am pretty sure you can pull a motor out of anything from 93-01 dodge ram truck or ram van. i don't know how much it cost you to just replace that 1 connecting rod but i think it would most likely be cheaper to just buy another motor. if 1 connecting rod failed and you can't find out why it is possible it would happen again.
One thing to look for when loking for replacement engine is, weather or not it has egr valve. I know 96 and later do not. Of course you could swap manifolds. Swaping manifolds would be good time to fix plenum plate on the manifold.
