92 ram with fuel injected 318. It smokes real real bad. Both oil and coolant. The compression is good. The power is decent. It has other problems but this is the important one. I know it needs head gaskets from the way it smokes coolant. Could this possibly fix the bad oil burning problem too. It's not the valve stem seals. I'm afraid it's the rings but it passed the compression test. I will probably be swapping this motor for the motor out of my 87 AHB Diplomat if I can't get it fixed. I really really really don't want to do this. Please help me keep the diplomat in one piece!!!!
Rip the heads off and take a look. I'd bet that you're right in that your head gaskets are causing all kinds of trouble. Get it fixed though, water in the oil is no good, neither is oil in the water. Or water sitting in the cyls.
