Default Need a detail picture 1982 318 engine

I need a real good picture from top and both sides(if you have one) of a 318 2 Barrel in a 1982 D150. I have this funky hot air pipe that is routed over the rocker cover on the passenger side. I do not believe that is where it was routed originally and I am trying to figure out what to do with it. Need to take off the rocker covers and replace the gaskets. would like to re-route this pipe (air injection?) or block it off if I can. Thanks in advance!!

How about posting a picture of yours with the air pipe? I have an '82 318, but it is a 4 Barrel. I have some picture of it before I starting removing things.

Default Pictures of pipe coming from Manifold and crossing rocker cover.

Okay here you go. In on picture you can see the tube coming off of the exhaust manifold, in the other picture you see the continuation of the heat pipe crossing the rocker cover. Any ideas? can I eliminate this pipe? Thanks!Attachment 17066

Default The Solution....Part of the Emmisions systems

These pipes are part of the emissions system that used to be on the truck. The guy or girl that made the modification to the truck, removing the air pump, simply bent the air hose over the rocker cover as you can see in the pictures in my last reply, and connected the two air hoses together. Seeing that they are now just adding back pressure to the exhaust system, it looks like I can create a plug and remove the air hoses from the exhaust manifold.
