Default 1990 ram 150 fuel issues

Hoprfully someone can help me. Starting at the beginning.. I first had to replace a fuel hose that goes from the fuel filter to the fuel pump. After doing that the truck starts then runs only a few minutes then dies as if it runs out of gas. Then it won't start unless I let it sit for an hour or so. I was told it was the fuel pressure regulator so I replaced that but still no gas is getting up through that. I removed it and yes fuel is getting up to that point but then appears to not have enough pressure to go through the regulator Any thoughts?

Did you use injection rated hose (higher pressure than regular fuel line)? Did you replace the fuel filter and if so is it pointing in the proper direction (there is an arrow on the filter for flow direction)? Could be a bad pump. Is there 12 volts at the pump?

Try rebuilding the carb, I had the same issue and took my holley 2bbl apart and had more fuel hose inside the carb than out.

k9cop33: It would be very difficult to rebuild the carb on a fuel injected engine.
