This is my first post...... I have a 1985 dodge W150 prospector with a 318 ( i call her big blue) I have already put a set of 31s on her (junkyard special) and i also put on a Heartthrob dual exhaust conversion kit ( 2.25 inch pipes, no cats, glasspacks.) Besides those mods its bone stock. What should be the next thing I do with her ?

I was thinking of getting a 600 cfm edelbrock/ holley carb ?
anyone know where I can find a four barrel intake as well ?

The first thing you might tell us is what are your goals/uses/needs for your truck. The modifications are only limited by your budget and ability.

daily driver, light offroading ( 2 tracking and a little mudding), and hauling a camper is what I usually use her for.

A mild towing cam and a 4 barrel will do you the most good for the buck. 600 CFM is the most I would do for the carb.

i don't think i would go over 500cfm on the carb if you are going to buy one. most carb manufacturers would probably reccomend something in the 400cfm area. there was a thread over on RCC where a guy tried a 650cfm, 600cfm and 500cfm on his 360 and it sound like he liked the 500cfm carb the best.

hmm then maybe a 500 cfm Edelbrock Thunder AVS is right for me but the article did say he was in high altitude in colorado and a i live in michigan. Would the elevation difference mean anything ?

i don't think the elevation would mean anything other than just maybe the way the carb is setup but like i said, if you go through Holley's carb selector they would most likely recommend there 390 cfm 4 barrel. you could probably call edelbrock or holley and ask them what they would recommend for what you are doing.
