I want to check the timing on this engine, but I am unable to even see the timing mark and the timing reference marks as the pollution control air pump is blocking the space needed for the timing light and being able to even see it. Does one have to remove the pump to do this or is there a work around?

 

I have the same equipment as you do and I can time mine. You must kind of stand on your head but it can be done.
