High Idle

Just for information. The double throttle return spring is the way it is supposed to be. It is insurance that if one spring fails the throttle will still close automatically.

Hmm interesting. Thanks for the info SEAL. Is the IAC you're talking about this http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Ca...91_0336303439?

As I was checking around the engine today, I found a threaded hole on the intake manifold with nothing going into it. I need to check more into it. It is behind the alternator.

That looks right, i put one on my 89 I switched it with one off a 91 ramcharger, when I switched mine it made a difference in performance and mileage

I agree that is the correct part. It has different names. ( IAC Idle Air Control Motor, AIS Automatic Idle Speed Motor, ISC Idle Speed Control Motor)

It seems like the ISC motor was the problem. Switched that out today and the high idle symptom is completely gone. The intermittent check engine light is still there but all traces of the idle problem are gone. Thanks for the help guys.
