1990 ram alternator problem

plain and simple , pull the battery cable off, truck quits, checked back of alternator for magnetic field.. none, changed ecu works great charging and truck runs pull batt cable off and it does not quit, put old ecu back in truck with battery cables disconnected , and does not work.. = bad ecu

Well all is good then. But checking the charge with a VOM is more plain and simple!
