Default '76 D200 starts then doesn't start

Hello Dodge people, i have a 1976 Dodge D200 with the 6.6 400 in it. (camper special) 76k org miles barn find.

any who the issue is this, i would start her up and after a little pumping of the gas and such it will start up fine. i would drive somewhere, and then try to start it up again nothing happens. it just keeps cranking but no start.

the last time, i went to Costco it drove beautifully there full power, and everything, about 10 miles from the house. i went shopping and loaded the truck up with crap i really didn't need, (about 1.5 hours) and tried to start but nope no start just cranking like it wants to start but no fuel or no air or no spark. I get it towed, as the tow truck puts my truck on the flat bed at 60 degrees upright gas started to poor out. we park it at my house, the next day no start, i let it sit for about 3 weeks, and i put a battery charger on it for about 2 hours (main reason is i had to move the truck) and it started right up.

I have replaced the distributor, plugs, wires, cap, router, battery, gas cap.

could it be fuel pump? or maybe a hole in the gas tank or filler neck? would that cause it to start and then not start again after a drive? Any suggestions would help. i do have 2 tanks, and the gas gauge wont go pass half tank (not sure if that has anything to do with it but worth a shot)

Thank you for reading and thinking ;-)

Could be the fuel pump.
I sometimes have to hold the pedal to the floor on mine to get it to start nice, pop it and it roars to life.

I also have a 76 D200 with a 400. Welcome to the Club.

Thank you, it's a cheap part (stock anyways) so I'll give it a shot.

Thank you again.

I forgot to mention this but does it sound weak turning over or does it spin pretty easy? Cause I've noticed with mine if I hold the throttle down in turns over easier then closed.
Just another thought.

Its a pile of junk... Sell it to me. Lol, just kidding. Im jealous. Check out your fuel filter when you throw the new pump on. I just did the same thing on my in-laws '77 and the rust from in the gas tank (sat a long time with little fuel) had clogged the filter. Sometimes it would run great, sometimes it wouldnt start at all.
