Default Rough start to a day...

Well, its a cold morning here in southeast Iowa. It wasnt however, cold two days ago. So, I decided to give the 'ole Dodge a good underhood spray at the carwash. Evidently, some of the water made its way down my throttle cable tube... See where this is going? Woke up today, made coffee, started the wife's Exploder and jumped in to start the Dodge. Gas pedal felt a little stiff, so what do I do?: Push harder of coarse. "POP!" Limp pedal and no throttle. Lifted the hood and tried to move the throttle on the carb: Nothing.
So, I disconnected the throttle cable, turned up the idle with a handy flathead screwdriver that was conveniently laying in the bed of the truck, and fired her up. Drove the kid to preschool at idle speed.
Again attempted to free the throttle cable to no avail. Assuming I snapped it, I rigged up a 20 ga wire from the throttle on the carb, into the cab and drove like that 20 miles to the parts store for a replacement cable. Did I mention its a 5 speed? That was interesting. Get to the parts store and voila! The afflicted throttle cable thaws out via the engine heat and with a simple reconnection of the throttle to the carb, I drove back home.
How was your morning?

Wow. That's handy. Did you buy the extra cable or no?
