Default front axle

I need to overhaul the front bearings on my 1989 W100. I want to replace everything from the seal out. How do I know what axle is on the truck? There seems to be a couple different axle models. 44-FBJ, DD-1241, Spicer...Is it on the axle itself somewhere?

Look on top of the front differential drivers side axle tube down by the drivers feet. You may find a vacuum motor. This devise engages the axles and automatically connects the two wheels in 4x4. It would mean you have a Dana 44 with CAD which is what a 44-FBJ is. There were many variations of Dana 44s with CAD other than the 44-FBJ but the hub bearings are all the same.
