Default 1985 Dodge Prospector

As you can see in the picture, I have (or will have shortly) a 1985 Dodge Prospector regular cab, long bed. I am trading it straight across for my 1962 VW Bug. The 85 has the 5.2L 318 in it and am told it runs great. I haven't driven it myself yet but that will happen this week sometime! I wanted to know the reliability of these trucks. Granted i know a lot of it depends on how the vehicle has been cared for over the years, but I mean in general. I haven't seen any rust just yet but I haven't been able to dive into it as much as I want just yet. Any feedback would be awesome!

If you keep them running right, fix anything before it gets worse, and just overall take care of them, they will run forever.

Welcome to DF. Congrats on your almost-final trade. Can't wait to see some more pictures.

Nice pickup, my brother has an 85 ram w150 with the 318 and its just a great pickup all round it's a 4 speed with 3.20 gears, it gets 20 mpg highway!, I've also got an 89, 83, 85, 79, and a 74 dodge pickups, 1972-1993 are my favorite dodge pickups, there excellent pickups and I've never had one let me down, just like dodge dude94 says, if you treat them right and take care of them they'll last forever. Any pictures you have I would love to see.

Well that is good news, first thing its gonna get is its first oil change with me and tune up soon as I get the money. The people who have it seem to have taken care of it but you can really only trust yourself right? I am test driving it today, was supposed to trade it but they decided they did not what my VW. So as soon as I drive it home today I will get many more pictures and post em. I have about 10 on my profile if ya wanna check them out. They are as it sits where the guy had it parked.

Looks like a great project. Is that a patch panel on the drivers side rear?
