On my '83 D250 it didnt have the vans LCA, so it could have been dropped in the front. Reg cab/long bed, personally I think it would look good.

 

I was going to use 1/2 ton springs in the front thinking they'd be shorter, but everywhere I've checked on a set gives me the same p/n as a 3/4 ton. so that's a bust

 

Yeah, thats because the 318 and 360 are close enough in weight that they didnt bother with heavier springs up front in 3/4 ton trucks. The stiffness is needed in the back, where the load will be. I have a 1 ton, and I am not so sure that my front springs are any different than my buddies 1/2 ton. Spring length (eye to eye) will be the same with all of your options, I believe.

 

I'm thinking your right. It's been a long time since I replaced the springs on my dads 1ton

 

I had to replace the front coils on my heavy duty D-250 with a Spicer 60 full floater rear axle and they are slightly heavier wire diameter, slightly larger outside diameter than light duty 250, which are slightly bigger in those dimensions over a 150 front coils.

But I think the differences in outside diameter are not enough to stop them from being swapped.
