about to pick up a d150 need some answers
All we are saying is that it is not a factory big block truck. Some one put the big block in it. All you have to do is look up the vin of the truck and it will tell you what it had in it factory. And when the pics were taken they must have been doing something to it cause you can see clearly in the pics about the wires like we are saying.
Now, if you would like to do a body lift on it, I have a brand new 2" body lift I would sale for $100 plus S&H. That goes for anyone on here that would like to buy it. Here is a link to it http://greensboro.craigslist.org/pts/3754434022.html

yea i figured out when i finally found out something about the 400 that it was stop being made in 1978 so i figured somone put it in there. and i took the pictures myself an it started up just fine i was getting my truck fixed and walked around back and there it was and asked them to start it up and it started up just fine no problems and i drove it around and it was just fine. sounded like all 8 cyl were firing sounded amazing so haha but on monday i should go ask them if all the wires are hooked up properly? or what exacly should i look for?
Looks like most of the plug wires are in decent shape, just the one odd ball.
I understand it started up when they did it but, was the picture before they started it. They may have been doing something to it and just had them undone and then put them back on after the pic and then started the truck for you. There is no reason to be saying haha when your picture shows what we are saying. Show your picture the people at the shop and they will tell you what I have said, there is no coil wire, pictures do not lie. You can even see a clean end on the dirty coil where the wire should be and had been on it. I am not saying that it did not run when they started it and that it did not run good, I am just stating what the picture shows me. Hope you do get it and it does good for you for a long time. It is a nice looking truck and $1000 is a killer deal. My 72 was give to me by my father-in-law. But I had to put about $700 in it to get it going. It is my beater, mudding, offroad truck for me and my son.
oh wait my bad i used the wrong photo he did have the one wire off as a (security) cause the hoods can get poped no problem and it was just sitting there if thats what you guys are talking about but it was just like a little tiny wire about 7 inchs or so
okay yea it was the coil wire then. i will learn all these names and what not soon so i dont look like a dumbass trying to explain things haha.

5x5.5 or 5x139.7 is what you should have.
Heres 2 sites that might help you and some others with finding bolt patterns out. http://www.vehicle-bolt-pattern.com/...nce-guide.html and http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wheel-bolt-pattern.aspx

Security, removing the coil wire. That is what the key and door locks are for. All removing the coil wire will do is stop it from running. You would have to get into the truck and then have a key or hot wire it to do that. And removing the coil wire does not stop someone from poping your hood and taking something off of it. Why not put a hood lock on it like http://www.jcwhitney.com/security-ke...?filterid=u0j1 or http://www.jcwhitney.com/transdapt-u...?filterid=u0j1. Just keep a key in the glove box.
stupid question were can i verify on the motor that it is indeed a 400? just cause i was googling them and they seem bigger then whats in there and ive seen some 360's that look identical to what this is.. but then again im looking at the motor cramed into a charger lol not a huge roomed pickup ?
